During the 2019 SAFETY4SEA Cyprus Conference, Mr. Konstantinos Dimopoulos, International Sales Manager, ERMA FIRST, shared his experience on BWTS selection procedure, advising how a vessel operator will select the most favorable system according to the vessel type. Mr. Dimopoulos noted that operations with problems in 2017 were up to approximately 30% while it almost doubled last year.

Oslo based Golar LNG announced that it has agreed with Erma First, to install a Ballast Water Treatment System on up to 16 LNG vessels.

Safe Bulkers, a  marine drybulk transportation services provider announced that it has agreed with Erma First, a Greek-based company, to install in all Safe Bulkers' vessels a Ballast Water Treatment System.

USCG Marine Safety Center issued Type Approval Certificate to ERMA FIRST ESK Engineering Solutions S.A. for its BWTS consisting of a three step process (filtration and electrolysis during uptake, and neutralization at discharge) The Greek manufacturer is the fifth to receive USCG type approval.

  ERMA FIRST announced cooperation agreement with Korea's shipbuilding and offshore engineering expert, DSEC, a subsidiary of DSME. ERMA FIRST has signed an MOU with DSEC  on Monday the 22nd of June for the BWTS retrofit market. This  co-operation will offer to ship owners a turnkey solution for their vessels, combining the vast engineering capabilities of DSEC with an extremely simple, robust and efficient technology ,used by  the ERMA FIRST / ERMA FIRST FIT BWTS. More than 40.000 vessels will have to comply to the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention while more and more owners are in the process of making decision on how to best comply with the US ballast water regulations. Mr Konstantinos Stampedakis , Managing Director of ERMA FIRST stated that “ Following a very successful presence of ERMA FIRST in the Korean Market , we are now expanding our capabilities to offer a first  class service to our customers in Greece and abroad”.
