New green ferry to operate in Umeå-Vaasa route

A new ferry that will combine energy efficiency, flexibility and optimised space availability, will soon start operation between Umeå in Sweden and Vaasa in Finland. The ferry will have been constructed by 2021 and will run mainly on LNG. The ship will also be able to burn biogas, while it will incorporate battery power to reduce its emissions while on port.

Cruise ship with scrubbers floated out

Fincantieri announced the float out of the ocean cruise ship “Viking Jupiter”, which was built for Viking. The cruise ship is equipped with scrubbers and has energy efficient engines to meet with strict environmental regulations. The ship will have a gross tonnage of about 47,800 tons, 465 cabins with accommodation for 930 passengers.
