The Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) announced its new goal, concerning the entire group to become climate-neutral, until 2040. HHLA is going to make every effort to protect the environment as it has already implemented a sustainability strategy under the ‘Balanced Logistics’ brand.

Port of Southampton welcomes more ‘green’ ships

Italian partners team up to innovate ports

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has entered into a preliminary collaboration agreement with financial institution Cassa depositi e prestiti (CDP) and natural gas infrastructure company Snam, aiming to implement medium-term strategic projects for the innovation of port facilities in Italy and of sustainable technologies applied to maritime transport.

Port of Kiel unveils sustainability concept

German Port of Kiel and the federal state capital Kiel have cooperated on a concept aimed at providing sustainable development in the port. ‘Blue Port Kiel’ outlines strategies and initiatives in three spheres of activity aimed at making energy resources more efficient, reducing emissions and transferring hinterland transport to rail.

IMO, IAPH work on ports emission reduction strategy

A strategic partnership of the IMO-GloMEEP and the International Association of Ports and Harbors is helping selected countries to develop port emission inventories and draw up a port emission reduction strategy. A new three-day workshop package on the “Prevention and control of shipping and port air emissions” is being developed as part of the partnership.
