Living in the digital age, the way that a voyage is planned is easier and quicker since all data and information are available on demand, with just one click, and all updates are introduced immediately upon receipt.There are no doubts that the benefits of e navigation in respect of time and effort during Appraisal and Planning stage, are beyond expectations for navigators.

Voyage planning is a key element of Bridge Resource Management forming the foundation the bridge team will use to ensure the vessel’s safe transit along its intended route. A voyage plan (or passage plan) is a comprehensive, berth to berth guide, developed and used by a vessel’s bridge team to determine the most favorable route and identify potential hazards along the route.

In order to reduce this number, deck department has to be well prepared before a vessel’s departure for a voyage at the sea. These preparations may include many complexities and this is the reason why a bunch of things should be considered and prepared carefully, to ensure a smooth voyage passage and safe navigation.
