The launch ceremony of DEME’s 3,500m3 LNG-powered trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) MINERVA took place on 3 December at Royal IHC's shipyard in Kinderdijk, The Netherlands. The dual-fuel dredger has a ‘Green Passport’ and a ‘Clean Design’ notation, complying and exceeding with the strictest international emission requirements.

Deltamarin, Arista Shipping, ABS and GTT announced last year a joint development project to equip the dry bulk carriers of the future with LNG propulsion called Project 'Forward'. Wärtsilä stated this week that it will team up with this project by supplying Wärtsilä 31DF dual-fuel engine to form the basis of the concept’s propulsion system
