IMO, in collaboration with the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA International) and Maritime SheEO, announced the launch of the Maritime SheEO Leadership Accelerator Programme 2022.

The Seafarers' Charity is funding new research to explore the welfare needs of women seafarers on cargo ships. The project will be carried out by the Seafarers' International Research Centre at Cardiff University and will focus on women working on cargo ships.

And while growing discussion sheds focus on the issue, knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is also needed to level the playing field.
