ABS, SecurityGate partner to provide cyber risk analysis

ABS announced that it started a collaboration with SecurityGate, in order to offer an in-depth cyber risk analysis solution. The solution will enter the ABS proprietary FCI Cyber Risk Methodology into the SecurityGate SaaS platform. The dashboard that will occur, will provide an instant shared view, showcasing the degree of cyber risk across assets, operations and critical suppliers.

Totem Plus to implement cyber protection for shipboard equipment

Totem Plus signed a licence agreement with Naval Dome to include the latter's maritime cyber security software into its automation and navigation systems. These systems are included in the hard drives of the equipment at the build stage before being delivered to the customers. All current operational Totem Plus systems will be automatically updated with Naval Dome when technicians perform software upgrades.

DNV GL launches AI research centre in Shanghai

DNV GL launched an artificial intelligence research centre in Shanghai, aiming to find solutions to improve its audit, inspection and survey services. DNV GL aims to develop new solutions based on AI technology, such as computer vision. The new research centre will grow up to eight staff by the end of 2019. In addition, blockchain has become a key technology to the company's assurance operations.

Marine Learning Systems, a provider of maritime training and assessment software solutions, collaborated with Carnival Corporation to develop an application for mariner skills assessment. SkillGrader aims to standardize Carnival Corporation’s training and assessment. After the assessment, SkillGrader automatically analyzes the data collected and provides a report on individual and team performance.

XVELA, a maritime business network for ocean carriers and terminal operators, announced that Hapag-Lloyd plans to implement its collaboration services to improve transparency throughout the transportation supply chain and more efficiently employ assets and resources.
