The Phoenix Reisen river cruise ship Prinzessin Isabella collided with an unidentified Panama-flagged cargo ship in Tulcea waters, Romania, Danube, in the early morning of Saturday, 5 October. The cargo vessel which was proceeding upstream en route to Galati, severely damaged the cruise ship with 165 passengers on board and was sailing downstream to Tulcea at the time of the collision.
Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship ‘Grandeur of the Seas’ canceled its sailing due to an engine problem, shortly after it left its home port in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday. The ship had to return to the harbor and cancel the cruise, which included a call to Bermuda.
On July 7, a USCG MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew evacuated a seven-year-old girl, as she was suffering from abdominal pain, from the cruise ship Celebrity Summit. The helicopter hoisted the girl, which was then transported at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk.

According to the US Coast Guard’s statement, they suspended their search for the missing crewmember, on July 7, who fell from the Carnival Victory cruise ship. The USCG members searched for 45 hours, about 2,600 square nautical miles, but weren’t able to detect the crewmember.

As local sources report, the Columbus cruise ship unexpectedly changed its course and docked at the Felison Cruise Terminal in IJmuiden. While the cruise vessel departed from Amsterdam it hit something in the water. Thus, the Port of Amsterdam and the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate were then on board for consultation and the exchange of information.
