Global dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. successfully loaded the 322 meter-long cruise ship ‘Carnival Vista’ on its semi-submersible heavy lift vessel BOKA Vanguard and transported it to a shipyard facility in Freeport, Bahamas for dry docking.
The cruise ship ‘Costa Deliziosa’ hardly avoided collision with the dock while transiting a canal in Venice during inclement weather on Sunday. The incident comes only a month after a similar incident involving a cruise ship in Venice, surging concerns about the safety of large cruise ships in Venice’s canals.

The Princess cruises ship ‘Regal Princess’ rescued two people from the water, after their private aircraft went down in the Caribbean Sea, southeast of Grand Turk. The cruise ship was en route from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, when she received a notification by USCG.
Spectrum of the Seas is nearing completion, as it was floated out of the dry dock on February 25, 2019, to start the next phase of construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Spectrum will be delivered in April 2019, and will be operating in the Chinese market. Two tugboats, with 9,000 horsepower each, pulled the ship out of the dry dock.
The Norwegian Epic cruise vessel sustained power loss during its current cruise to the Caribbean on February 12, requiring the NCL cruise ship to divert to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The cruise vessel was planned to voyage to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and later on sail to St Thomas, US Virgin Islands and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas on February 15th before returning to Port Canaveral on February 16th.
