Watch: Two Carnival cruise ships collide in Mexico

A video circulated through social media depicts the collision of two Carnival cruise ships at Cozumel island, Mexico, on Friday. Six passengers were slightly injured and went to the Carnival Glory medical center.

Watch: Polar cruise vessel hits the water for the first time

The Lindblad Expeditions Holdings’ new polar expedition vessel “National Geographic Endurance”, hit the water for its first float test. Specifically, the designer of the cruise ship Ulstein, informed that float-out was successfully completed in Ulsteinvik, Norway on December 7.

On Sunday 27 October, the U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 44-year old man from the TUI cruises ship called “Mein Schiff” at a position about 20 nautical miles east of Atlantic City, in order to receive medical care. For the time being, the crewmember’s health condition remains unknown.

On October 9, the cruise ship Braemar made history, as it became the longest ever ship to cruise through the Corinth Canal in Greece. The 24-meter-wide canal connectw the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth. While transiting, the ship was close enough to the canal’s sides, that guests could almost touch the walls.

The Phoenix Reisen river cruise ship Prinzessin Isabella collided with an unidentified Panama-flagged cargo ship in Tulcea waters, Romania, Danube, in the early morning of Saturday, 5 October. The cargo vessel which was proceeding upstream en route to Galati, severely damaged the cruise ship with 165 passengers on board and was sailing downstream to Tulcea at the time of the collision.

On August 17th, 2019, Norwegian Encore successfully completed a major construction milestone, when it emerged for the first time from the Meyer Werft ship building dock in Papenburg, Germany. Norwegian Encore will be at the shipyard port for the final phase of construction, before its conveyance up the Ems River and towards the North Sea at the end of September.

On July 7, a USCG MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew evacuated a seven-year-old girl, as she was suffering from abdominal pain, from the cruise ship Celebrity Summit. The helicopter hoisted the girl, which was then transported at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk.

‎Global dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. successfully loaded the 322 meter-long cruise ship ‘Carnival Vista’ on its semi-submersible heavy lift vessel BOKA Vanguard and transported it to a shipyard facility in Freeport, Bahamas for dry docking.
