Retired cruise ship sinks, added to artificial reef

The Delaware State Division of Fish and Wildlife, got the retired cruise ship American Glory and sunk it 16.5 nautical miles off Indian River Inlet, adding another sunken vessel in their artificial reef program. The 200-foot ship got lifted by Norfolk,Virginia-based marine contractor Coleen Marine, which also prepared it for the reef.

Port of Vancouver announces 33rd cruise season finale

The Port of Vancouver announced that its 33rd cruise season will come to an end on November 1, with the final cruise ship departing from Canada Place terminal at the Port of Vancouver; The port informs that the 2020 cruise ship season will start again on 2 April, 2020.

On Sunday 27 October, the U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 44-year old man from the TUI cruises ship called “Mein Schiff” at a position about 20 nautical miles east of Atlantic City, in order to receive medical care. For the time being, the crewmember’s health condition remains unknown.

The Phoenix Reisen river cruise ship Prinzessin Isabella collided with an unidentified Panama-flagged cargo ship in Tulcea waters, Romania, Danube, in the early morning of Saturday, 5 October. The cargo vessel which was proceeding upstream en route to Galati, severely damaged the cruise ship with 165 passengers on board and was sailing downstream to Tulcea at the time of the collision.

Cruise ship moves on second relief mission for Bahamas

The cruise ship Grand Celebration which is operated by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, began its second journey to and from Grand Bahama Island for a second relief cruise on Sunday, September 15, to assist those who were affected hard by Hurricane Dorian’s heavy weather conditions.

Cruise ship gets briefly arrested in Iqaluit

The RCGS Resolute cruise ship was briefly arrested earlier in August, while it was anchored in Iqaluit. Namely, the Nunavut sheriff’s office received a claim and warrant from the Federal Court in Halifax, and then was requested to perform the arrest.
