Konecranes and Yilport announced that inked a contract for the delivery of automated RTG systems to three of Yilport’s European container ports. Specifically, the order was booked back in December 2019 and concerns the following container terminals: Yilport’s Gävle in Sweden, Liscont and Leixões in Portugal.

An Asia-Pacific container handling terminal is looking towards the future for ports, as it seeks to automate rubber-tyred gantry container handling systems to increase efficiency and safety benefits. Terminal Petikemas Semarang (TPKS) in Semarang, Central Java, extended the world’s first commercially operated fleet of Konecranes Automated Rubber Tyre Gantry cranes with nine new ARTGs.

Navis, a provider of operational technologies and services, announced that it provided 31 automated rail-mounted gantry cranes to Five Continents International Container Terminal (FICT), all of them already operating on its N4 terminal operating system. The retrofitting of the 31 automated RMGs was completed in a record time, with the intelligent equipment going live on April 30, 2019.

Huisman informed that it delivered the first ever class certified, 3D-printed crane hooks. The 3D-printed hooks were certified following load testing at more than double their safe working load. The hooks are certified for offshore use based on ABS standards. The OOS Serooskerke will be the first ship to have a 3D-printed crane hook installed.
