MOL signs MoU with COSCO expanding relations on LNG projects

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation Co., Ltd., that boosts they’re already existing cooperation for future LNG carrier projects and Ethane carrier projects.

Seaspan, COSCO sign LNG cooperation agreement

Seaspan Corporation announced a framework agreement on April 2, regarding a strategic cooperation with COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. The two companies will enhance their collaboration regarding LNG investments, LNG projects, LNG transportation, ethane transportation, or other related and mutually beneficial projects.

COSCO Shipping Lines reaches agreement for LSFO supply

COSCO Shipping Lines has reached to a low sulphur fuel oil supply agreement with Double Rich Limited, which is a subsidiary of China Marine Bunker (Petro China). Double Rich will now supply COSCO with compliant 0.5% fuel, complying with the upcoming IMO 2020 sulphur cap. COSCO said that this agreement promotes the company’s emission reduction technology, and it improves its management pattern. COSCO will now also advance its GREEN Shipping.

China, Japan to regularly use Arctic route for LNG transport

Chinese and Japanese shipping companies are collaborating to create an Arctic Ocean route, with the aim to ship LNG to Asian markets. This development is an attempt which has as a target to reduce transport time by more than half. Namely, Mitsui and Cosco will cooperate, diversifying risk, as sailing in the Arctic hides many dangers.

CHI, GTT ink LNG deal

Cosco Shipping Heavy Industries and GTT signed a strategic agreement to deal with the market challenges and future business developments, such as LNG as fuel newbuildings and retrofits, small scale LNG carriers and FLNG.

Shell awarded big shipping commitment from COSCO

Shell Marine has been awarded COSCO’s largest marine lubricants order in 2017.  This order will include the full range of marine lubricants and technical services for seven out of COSCO SHIPPING’S 10 new generation Ultra Large Container Carriers.

MOL, COSCO to jointly own four Yamal LNG carriers

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. confirmed that China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited will take an equity stake in the MOL wholly owned subsidiary that will own four LNG carriers serving the Russia Yamal LNG project.
