Hutchison Ports has celebrated its 50th anniversary by announcing that it has become the world’s first port operator to achieve a cumulative global throughput of 1.3 billion TEU. The port’s achievement was announced at a cocktail reception in Hong Kong.
Container throughput in ports of Latin America and the Caribbean increased by 7.7% in 2018 compared to 2017, according to data provided by UN ECLAC. This analysis is based on the performance of a sampling of 31 countries and 118 ports and port areas in the region.
