ATSB published its final report into the cargo ship 'Madang Coast' impacting a wharf at the Port of Townsville. The risk management processes were not sufficiently mature nor resilient enough to identify and mitigate risks in pilotage services. The incident has led to the updating and full implementation of a safety management system, in order to better identify risks and how to mitigate them.

The US Coast Guard responded to a report of four people in the water after two vessels collided near Baptiste Collette Bayou, Louisiana, on January 16. The boat is now half sunken in Baptiste Collete Bayou outside the channel waiting for salvage. Namely, a 40-foot commercial deck boat with eight people aboard collided with a 24-foot bay boat with four people aboard.

The Ro-Pax ferry 'Men Del Norte II' partially sank following collision with the berthed cargo ship 'BBC Zarate' on the Amazon River in Peru, in the morning hours of Friday, 15 February.

The Greece-registered bulk carrier 'Pireas' collided with the Malaysian government vessel 'Polaris' in Singapore Territorial Waters, within Singapore Port Limits off Tuas, Saturday. 'Pireas' was en route from Singapore to its next port of call at Tanjung Pelepas, when the collision took place at 14.28 hrs.

A US guided-missile cruiser and Navy resupply vessel have collided off the coast of Florida during a training exercise on February 5, according to the US Naval Institute (USNI). From the collision there were no casualties addressed, whereas only minor damage above the waterline to both ships was reported.

Although the delay was long concerning weather conditions, the salvage process for the sunken Norwegian frigate Helge Ingstad is almost completed, and the Norwegian Navy expects to raise it on February 7 for transport to a nearby naval base. Salvage divers managed to remove the majority of the frigate's missiles and torpedoes for disposal. As the torpedoes were too sensitive to be transferred, they were destroyed nearby.

On 11th February 2015, the Marshall Islands registered oil tanker Alexandra 1 and the United Kingdom registered container ship Ever Smart collided near the entrance to the buoyed approach channel in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. The analysis of this collision highlights important key lessons, taking into consideration that both vessels were modern, equipped with advanced systems for navigation & communication and manned with certified experienced crews, under the supervision and guidance of a VTS collided, within Port limits.

The city of Troy in New York published a video depicting several unmanned boats and vessels pass beneath the Troy-Menands Bridge on the Hudson River. The vessels broke free of their moorings on Friday, January 25, because of heavy rainfall and ice flow on the Hudson River. One of them, a river cruise boat, broke its moorings and drifted downstream, hitting a bridge and wedging itself under another in Albany.

This video depicts a collision between the ferry Cruise Olbia, with the ferry Athara at Olbia port, Sardinia, Italy, on January 24. The collision was minor, but it caused damage to both ships. The collision took place probably due to rough weather. Athara's bridge wing was damaged and remained at port, while Cruise Olbia continued her voyage after leaving Olbia harbor.
