What to be aware of during Asian Gypsy Moth 2019

As the West of England reports, the Asian Gypsy Moth (AGM) is a highly destructive forest pest that feeds on both deciduous and coniferous trees. The voracious appetite of AGM larvae (caterpillars) coupled with the ability of the female moth to travel significant distances, as much as 20 nautical miles, can cause widespread defoliation leaving trees weakened and susceptible to disease and other pests.

San Vicente Terminal in Chile receives two new STS gantry cranes

San Vicente Terminal Internacional, Chile, reached a milestone in its modernization plan on February 16. Namely, the terminal welcomed two new, state-of-the-art STS gantry cranes, part of an investment of around US$ 20 million. The cranes stand 80 meters tall, and have a lifting capacity of 100 tons at the cargo hook, along with a reach of 62 meters. This enables them to service vessels up to 50 meters in beam.
