Port of Rotterdam released a statement to inform that CO2 emissions from industry and power plants in the Port were reduced by 1 Mtonne (4.2%) in 2022 compared to 2021.

On 6th April, Northern Lights joint venture (JV) announced, the installing of the first temporary CO2 storage tank of its carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Øygarden in Norway.

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has awarded Approval in Principle (AiP) to Rotoboost, a Nordic hydrogen production company, for its pre-combustion Carbon Capture System (CCS) Rotobox.

On March 16th, the European Commission proposed the Net-Zero Industry Act to scale up manufacturing of clean technologies in the EU and make sure the Union is well-equipped for the clean-energy transition. This initiative was announced by President von der Leyen as a part of the Green Deal Industrial Plan.

On March 8th, the technology group Wärtsilä announced that it has received its first order for carbon capture and storage-ready scrubber systems, CCS-Ready scrubbers, with the delivery expected to take place in 2023. 

China Classification Society (CCS), together with Singapore’s SDTR Marine Pte Ltd. (SDTR) and Shanghai’s Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), jointly developed the world's first 85,000DWT Ammonia-Fueled Bulk Carrier.
