AIDA Cruises eyes fleet electrification in a world’s first

German cruise line AIDA Cruises, part of Carnival Corporation, signed an agreement with marine battery supplier Corvus Energy, regarding the installation of lithium-ion battery storage systems onboard the AIDA Cruises fleet, starting from 2020.

Carnival reveals its modern terminal in Barcelona

Carnival Corporation released artist renderings of its second cruise terminal at the Port of Barcelona, which will be Europe’s newest passenger cruise terminal when it opens, in 2018. The terminal is designed to accommodate the company’s “next-generation” green cruise ships, that will be fully operated by LNG, the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel.

Carnival achieved EGCS installation on 60 vessels

Carnival Corporation & plc announced it has completed the installation and certification of Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems on 60 ships across its brands, improving the quality of air emissions and leading, in this way, to a significant development in shipboard environmental technology.

RINA certifies Carnival Maritime

RINA Services recently awarded Carnival Maritime GmbH ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 certificates. Now the Carnival Maritime office in Hamburg as well as 26 ships in Carnival Maritime’s fleet have been awarded environmental management and safety management certifications.
