Regarding the maritime employment, during the second virtual CAREER4SEA Talk, speakers focused on the new skills required for young professionals aiming to join the industry.

The pandemic has radically changed our lives; now everyone wishes for life to restore to normal, but we all know that the post-COVID era will have no resemblance with the past. With the vaccinations now occurring across the globe, health officials are optimistic about the outbreak, but the pandemic won’t be over anytime soon. So what that means for shipping? What changes have been affected and what should we expect in the near and long term?

Our special column asked from the winners of the first CAREER4SEA – EUROPORT Awards, which were announced in early November on the sidelines of EUROPORT, to suggest ways in order to support gender diversity in shipping and give motives to younger generations for investing in a career in the industry.

The awards were presented at a prestigious ceremony which successfully concluded on November the 8th, on the sidelines of EUROPORT, the leading international exhibition that took place in Rotterdam, November 5-8, 2019.

SAFETY4SEA is happy to announce that the second CAREER4SEA Conference will be held on Saturday, 8 December 2018, at the Eugenides Foundation, Athens. Greece, from 10:30 to 17:30, a pro bono event which aims to highlight industry dynamics and career opportunities in shipping industry for the young generation.
