RINA announced that a new amendment for the EN-ISO-IEC 27006 was published. The standard defines the requirements for the bodies providing audits and certification of information security management systems.

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) is getting ready for the Audit Plan of member States of the International Maritime Organization IMO.

The first two remote audits under IMO's Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS) have been successfully completed, after efforts to reduce the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the audit schedule.

The DryBMS will grade the excellence of a company’s SMS against measurable expectations and targets without involving the burdens of excessive inspections. The standard describes the scoring methodology and cites the PDCS cycle as a way of implementing continual improvement within companies' activities.

An independent external accredited certification body has now certified a quality management system for IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS). The certification aims to enhance the confidence of Member States in IMSAS by demonstrating compliance with an internationally recognizable management standard (ISO 9001:2015)

The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency issued a marine information notice which sets out the policy of the MCA with respect to UK Vessels which are prevented from arranging the relevant Surveys, Inspections and Audits required for compliance with the relevant Statutory Instruments due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and continuity, the Oil Companies and International Marine Forum (OCIMF) announced the suspension of all audits for the year 2020. Therefore, OCIMF decided to suspend all SIRE (Cat-1 and Cat-3) audits, SIRE and OVID refresher courses and new-inspector courses for the year 2020.
