ReCAAP ISC published its 3rd quarter piracy report, informing that the Asian region witnessed an increase in the number of incidents during the period January-September 2022 compared to January-September 2021, as 62 incidents of armed robbery against ships were reported during January-September 2022.

Three incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia were reported to the ReCAAP ISC, comprising two CAT 31 incidents and one CAT 42 incident, over the past week. All three incidents occurred in the Singapore Strait (SS).

During the period 5 - 11 July 22, one CAT 3 incident of armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to the ReCAAP ISC.

During the period 14-20 Jun 22, one CAT 41 incident of armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to the ReCAAP ISC.
