METIS Virtual Agents: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Action

During the 2019 SMART4SEA Conference, Mike Konstantinidis, CEO, METIS Cyberspace Technology, described how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning can apply in shipping and improve operations. As such, he talked about the METIS Virtual Agents, the first cyber personal assistant for vessel monitoring & management, interacting with its colleagues in the maritime company via natural language processing.

Dr. Luiza Shahbazyan, Product Manager CAT, Safebridge Cyprus, says that living in the smart shipping era, it is likely to see a change in the working environment, requiring from seafarers a different kind of skills which could be able to augment artificial intelligence, and focusing more on non-technical skills, known as ‘soft skills’.
