Seven grains ships stranded at Argentina’s export hub of Rosario due to shallow river waters will be towed free and sent out to sea, according to local authorities. The ships have started leaving on Saturday morning.

Following the announcement of the obligation for an OSRO certificate when conducting bunkering operations at Zona Comun, off La Plata, the Argentine Coast Guard has now shared further clarifications on the matter.

The Argentina Coast Guard are taking action against vessels that exceed speed limits in the River Plate basin and Parana River, according to North P&I Club citing information from local correspondents Pandi Liquidadores S.R.L. 

The Argentinian Coast Guard issued administrative enquiries against various vessels for breaching speed limits, mainly in the Rosario port area of the Parana River where the speed limit is currently 9 knots.

Following the disruption caused by the strikes in Argentina, a coalition of Argentine longshore and oilseed industry unions reached an agreement to end a three-week-long strike.

Argentina will resolve the ports crisis that has been taking place and is affecting agricultural exports, as employees of soy processing factories call for better wages.

The Coast Guard of La Plata in Buenos Aires reports that any vessel conducting bunkering operations at Zona Comun, off La Plata, is obliged to set up a contract with an oil spill response organization (OSRO). 

Following the procedures for cargo cleanliness requirements in Argentina, which came into force back in 2017, Argentinian P&I correspondents, Pandi Liquidadores S.R.L. issued an updated circular for all interested parties.
