The super post-Panamax cranes were built by ZPMC in Shanghai and can accommodate 20,000 TEU vessels, thus giving the facility an annual container capacity of 5 million TEUs. The new deep-water terminal at the Tanger- Med II port complex will have both conventional and fully-automated operations.

Phase 3 is part of a five Phase long-term plan that can enhance the terminal’s annual throughput capacity to 1.5M TEU.  It will include a 400 ft. dock extension, super Post-Panamax crane rails and upgrades to the fender system, which will accommodate 14,000 TEU ships.

The joint service deployed by Hapag-Lloyd, NYK, ZIM, Hyundai and Hamburg Sud prefers their vessels call APM Terminals' facilities in Itajai, Brazil and T4 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The service will begin on August 25 with the arrival of the first vessel into Terminal 4 Buenos Aires.

The weekly Ocean Alliance NEU4 service, operated by French-based CMA-CGM, will link the port of Zeebrugge with the Asian ports of Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, and Yantian, China, as well as Busan, Korea. The connection marked a start with the first call of the "APL Changi", to the port, on May 16th.

APM Terminals has announced that it partners with the Port of Gothenburg in order to stimulate Sweden's economic growth and increase the country’s global trade access. The new investment will focus upon increasing operational productivity for vessels, improving gate access for trucks and enhanced rail services.
