APM Terminals has announced orders for 12 remote-controlled Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and 32 Automated Rail-Mounted Gantry Cranes (ARMGs) to equip the new five million TEU APM Terminals MedPort Tangier facility now under construction at the Tanger-Med II port complex.
COSCO Shipping Ports and Qingdao Port International Development become partners with APM Terminals to operate the existing Vado Reefer Terminal, and the new deep-water container terminal under construction in Vado, Italy, opening in 2018.
The APM Terminals has planned crane heightening project to be prepared for regular Ultra-Large Container Vessel calls in the trans-Pacific trade lanes, carrying up to 20,000 twenty-foot equivalent containers per vessel.
The APM Terminals Global Terminal Network is working closely with supply chain partners across the portfolio to ensure seamless implementation of SOLAS weight certification requirements for export containers.
APM Terminals has reached an agreement with joint venture partner Aarhus Service Holding for the purchase of the remaining 40% of the existing APM Terminals-Aarhus A/S facility, strategically-located on the Jutland Peninsula, in Denmark’s busiest port.
With just 50 days until SOLAS Verified Gross Mass (VGM)comes into force, APM Terminals announced that it will provide VGM Generation Services to supply chain partners at 29 loactions globally.
