Spain's Port of Valencia has installed an air quality control cabin, incorporated into the Valencian Network for the Monitoring and Control of Atmospheric Contamination, to provide real time data to allow knowledge of its emission levels.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority and the Tomakomai Port Authority joined forces to promote the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel and provide LNG bunkering services at the Port of Vancouver and Port of Tomakomai.

The British Port of Southampton announced completion of a project that aimed to lengthen the tracks at Solent Rail Terminal and it now aims to reduce lorry movements in the city by 180,000 each year. Solent Stevedores and ABP Southampton have partnered on this scheme.

The US Port of Oakland has approved an air quality plan intended to drastically cut diesel and greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the port’s maritime operations. The plan, called the Seaport Air Quality 2020 and Beyond Plan, envisions a zero-emissions operation in the future.
