Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) has also been hit by a cyber-atack, involving loss of both commercial information and personal data.
As SPO stated, it discovered it had been the target of a cyberattack to access its IT systems, but did not reveal when the incident took place.
The unauthorised access has resulted in the loss of some confidential proprietary commercial information and has resulted in the loss of some personal data
the company said, adding that the cyberattack had not materially affected its operations.
SPO has now taken actions to improve security measures and address the potential impact of the incident. It is also contacting parties that could have been affected by the cyberattack on its systems.
The announcement by SPO of the cyberattack comes afte an incident involving classification society Bureau Veritas which led to it taking its servers offline.
Recently, wind turbine manufacturer Vestas informed that on 19 November it has been impacted by a cyber security incident. To contain the issue, IT systems are shut down across multiple business units and locations.
