Canal completely secured according to SCA
The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) announced that the traffic in the Suez Canal witnessed a remarkable increase in number of transit and tonnage during the first half of August compared to the first half of the current year.
The daily average number of transit registered 47.3 vessel, while the daily average tonnage was 2.64m ton compared to 44.3 vessel and 2.45m ton during the first half of the current year respectively.
The SCA would like to affirm that it is keen to provide the best attainable service to the transiting vessels and to adopt the marketing policies which aim at raising both number of transits and tonnage through the Suez Canal as well as guarantee the highest security measures for the transiting vessels so that the traffic remains smooth and unstopped.
Admiral Mohab Mamish, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, announced that the Canal is completely secured and at the highest level of safety. This is achieved by the closest coordination between the SCA and the Egyptian Armed Forces together with the National Security Forces. He added that news saying that the traffic in the Canal was stopped is completely untrue and it is just mere rumors with no base of truth; the traffic in the Canal is open for the world prosperity as for Egypt too.
