A storm called Ali is currently hitting Scotland. The storm detached the cruise ship ‘Nautica’ from its moorings in Greenock, Scotland. The vessel drifted away from the dock on September 19.
‘Nautica’ experienced strong winds and got detached from the dock. Now all guests, about 500, are stuck at sea but safe.

Tugs are going on the scene to help the ship, while Oceania Cruises’ shore operations teams are looking after the passengers until conditions are safe for the vessel to returned to the terminal.
‘Nautica’ was built in 2000 and can accommodate more than 800 guests. The ship is currently halfway through a 12-day cruise around the UK and Ireland.
Storm Ali has reached winds up to 102mph, and has caused two people to die. Its damage was felt across the UK, as it caused power outages and travel problems, with many roads being closed.
