The cargo ship Solong which was involved in a collision with the oil tanker Stena Immaculate in the North Sea is being towed to Aberdeen.
According to the owners of the cargo vessel, the Solong is being towed to Aberdeen and the Coastguard said the vessel would arrive in the Scottish port “later this week”.
Chief Coastguard Paddy O’Callaghan stated that the salvage operation for the Solong has progressed, allowing it to be safely relocated to the Port of Aberdeen for secure berthing. Meanwhile, the Stena Immaculate remains in a stable condition, with salvage efforts still underway.
Additionally, as reported, a spokesperson for Ernst Russ confirmed that the cargo vessel would undergo a thorough assessment by marine assessors and insurers upon its arrival in Aberdeen.
