Singapore based SSB Cryogenic Services (SSB) signed a $50m agreement with Global Petro Storage (GPS) Singapore to develop small-scale LNG supply chain solutions in Southeast Asia.
The partnership between SSB and GPS was signed by Peh Lam Hoh, Managing Director of SSB Cryogenic Services, and Eric Arnold, CEO of GPS Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention centre in Singapore.
Both companies’ aim is to provide a total solution for small to mid-scale LNG projects. Because of the global focus on cleaner energy sources and the 2020 sulphur cap, both companies are aware of the possibilities and the opportunities that arise in LNG bunkering. Also, SSB and GPS understand the possibilities on intermediate storage and break-bulking activities, and mainly the increased demand for LNG supply chain solutions.

Moreover, the collaboration, between the two companies, aspires to promote the transmit, distribution and storage of LNG in small-scale feature, to remote locations that have a limited access to energy sources because of the inadequate distribution infrastructures and less inter-connectivity of gas pipelines.
In places where the demand for sources is difficult to be serviced, the small scale LNG bunkering is much needed because its features, such as small-scale LNG membrane vessels, satellite hubs and ISO tanks, make it suitable for these locations.
Peh Lam Hoh of SSB stated that via this collaboration the small-scale LNG supply chain solutions will develop and serve small and mid-scale customers in this region.
