Countries with confirmed cases of EVD as of 6 Sep 2015
The Skuld P&I Club has issued updated information on the countries with confirmed cases of EVD.
As of 6 September 2015, the list of countries on the affected areas list with cases include also Guinea and Sierra Leone. There were three new Ebola cases reported in the week to 30 August: two in Guinea and one in Sierra Leone. The case in Sierra Leone was the first in the country for over two weeks. For the week from 31 August to 6 September there were two new Ebola cases reported: one in Sierra Leone and one in Guinea.
According to WHO data, the total number of cases stands at 28 103, including 11 290 deaths (4 September 2015).
Liberia declared free of Ebola
The WHO declared Liberia free of Ebola virus transmission on 3 September 2015, as a period of 42 days (i.e. two incubation period for EVD) have passed since the second negative test on 22 July 2015 of the last laboratory-confirmed case
