Singapore’s Jurong Port Tank Terminals (JPTT) completed the first phase of works in Pulau Damar Laut in Jurong Port and is now ready to welcome customers. An opening ceremony took place on July 29, making 252,000 cbm of clean petroleum product storage capacity available to the market.
The terminal was made a reality due to a joint venture between Singapore’s Jurong Port and tank terminal operator Oiltanking, who collaborated for the project in 2015.

The terminal is able to store and handle clean petroleum products and petrochemicals, while it will also be supported by four berths with deep draft of up to 17.6 meters. The berths will be capable of handling up to 180,000 dwt tankers.
Once phase 2 is done, the terminal is planned to have an overall capacity of 550,000 cbm.
In addition, the terminal will have an increased product transfer rate, in comparison to previous tank terminals. As the Port informed, ship loading and unloading will be up to 50% faster because of the use of large capacity pumps and jetty arms.
Finally, JPTT is expected to handle about seven million tons of clean petroleum product per year.
