Four foreign flagged ships remained under detention in UK ports during January 2019 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection, according to data provided by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
During January the British Officials proceeded to the detention of six foreign flagged ships, while another four vessels were detained in the UK during November 2018.
New Detentions
The Cook Islands flagged vessel named ‘Birch’ was detained on January 4 at Cardiff, after it was found with thirty-two deficiencies with nine grounds for detention. This vessel was released on 17th January 2019.
The Panama-flagged ‘Gala Trio’ was detained on 12th January 2019 at Seaham, after found with sixteen deficiencies with two grounds for detention. This vessel was released on 31st January 2019.
The Marshall Islands-flagged ‘Yasa Unsal Sunar’, was detained January 13 2019 at Immingham, since it was found with fifteen deficiencies with one ground for detention. This vessel was released on 17th January 2019.
The Panama-flagged ‘Navios Prosperity’ was detained on 13th January 2019 at Port Talbot after found with twenty three deficiencies with ten grounds for detention. This vessel was released on 21st January 2019.
St Vincent and the Grenadines flagged ‘Greta’ was detained on 17th January 2019 at Warren Point, found with ten deficiencies with four grounds for detention. It was released on 19th January 2019.
Togo flagged ‘Aressa’ was detained on 23rd January 2019 at Goole with twenty three deficiencies with thirteen grounds for detention. This vessel was released on 31st January 2019.
Detentions carried over from previous months
The Icelandic-flagged ‘Poseidon’, found with 10 deficiencies, two of which were detainable, was detained on 19th July 2018 at Hull. This vessel was still detained on 30th September 2018.
The Russian-flagged ‘Tecoil Polaris’ was detained on 6th June 2018 at Immingham, after found with 27 deficiencies with eight grounds for detention. This vessel was still detained on 30th September 2018.
The unregistered ‘Cien Porciento’ was detained on 4 March 2010 with 30 deficiencies, including seven grounds for detention. This vessel was still detained on 30th September 2018.
