WISTA Hellas conducted its Annual Forum on November 5, focusing on the sanctions that are being imposed today, the development of digitalization, as well as the role of women in shipping and the importance of boosting their presence in the sector.
Specifically, during the event, the attendees and panellists discussed how the changing environment of the shipping industry may affect and change the operational procedures.
WISTA Hellas President Angie Hartmann, in her opening speech, commented that the sanction that the world sees today, are a sensitive issue that companies have to comply with and follow the rules. In addition, she stated that as the future of shipping calls for more technological innovations, shipping companies should implement and cope with new technological features in their daily operations, as well.
In the meantime, Leonidas-Dimitriades-Eugenides, IMO Ambassador and President of the Eugenides Foundation, highlighted the importance of women in the maritime sector, while also commented that shipping companies have to comply with the international sanctions, new regulations and expanded technology.
