The agreement between Shell Oman and Port of Duqm aims to develop fuel bunkering facilities and services at the port.
Namely, the agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammed Mahmood Al Balushi, Chief Executive Officer of SOM, and Mr. Reggy Vermeulen, CEO of PDC.
Shell Oman Marketing Company and Port of Duqm have both established bunkering terminal to provide various grades of quality fuels and lubricants, as well as other ancillary facilities to marine liners calling at the Port of Duqm.

Moreover, Reggy Vermeulen, CEO of Port of Duqm addressed that this new agreement with Shell Oman highlights the clear ambition of Port of Duqm to become a future bunker hub serving the entire region.
Because of the 2020 sulphur cap regulations following, Port of Duqm plans to benefit its location and its availability of proper fuel specs and offer prime bunker services, respectively.
Finally, Port of Duqm Company SAOC (PDC) is a 50:50 partnership between the Oman Government and Port of Antwerp Consortium.
It has a current capacity of 100,000 to 200,000 TEUs, 4 million tonnes of dry bulk, and 1 million tonnes of project, break bulk and heavy lift cargos.
