Missing of seven crew members has been reported, after the sinking of a Turkey-flagged cargo ship, off the Libyan coast, on Thursday, 16 March. The incident happened in bad weather conditions while the ship was carrying construction materials.
A local coastguard commander stated that the dry bulk vessel sank two to three miles from the port of the north-western Libyan city of Misrata, Reuters reports.
The local coast guard and further port staff achieved the rescue of six persons and are currently searching for the seven missing. All crew members were Turkish.
Investigators say that the research is impeded by the bad weather.
