Seanergy Maritime and United Maritime are upgrading their communication infrastructure by integrating Starlink with their existing satellite setup across the fleet.
Developed by SpaceX, Starlink, is a satellite internet constellation using a low Earth orbit to provide high-speed internet access to remote and underserved areas globally. Major shipping companies including Hapag-Lloyd, MOL, Neda, Maersk, Marlink, and others, have started using the technology, in an effort to provide their crews with better connectivity.
Innovation is at the core of our operations. Embracing technological advancements is paramount. Selecting Starlink for its high-speed, low latency connectivity was a no-brainer, benefiting both our business operations and the welfare of our seafarers.

According to the company, choosing Navarino for this strategic rollout was deliberate. Navarino’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, Andreas Dimitriadis, emphasized their commitment to providing a top-notch customer experience and expressed pride in being chosen for the Starlink project. He looks forward to collaborating closely with Seanergy Maritime and United Maritime in deploying this new service efficiently.
Internet connectivity is a necessary pathway to wellness at sea, as revealed by the 2023 SEAFiT Crew Survey. Thus, all stakeholders and seafarers are encouraged to sign the SAFETY4SEA petition and participate in the conversation on social media using the hashtag #Sign4FreeInternetOnboard.
