At least one seafarer aboard the bulk carrier TUDOR lost their life after the vessel sustained a dual attack from Yemen’s Houthis, resulting in damage to the stern.
The incident took place on June 12, 66 nautical miles southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. According to international news sources, the Liberia-flagged bulk carrier TUTOR sustained a double hit (from air and sea) to its engine room, has lost communication and is unable to maneuver.
Meanwhile, the Houthis stated that the Tutor was at risk of sinking following their attack using an unmanned surface vessel, drones, and ballistic missiles.
This incident marks the 15th Greek-affiliated ship targeted in attacks in the Red Sea, where ships of Israeli interests and those traveling to or from Israeli ports are primary targets.
