The Scottish Aberdeen Harbour announced the arrival of a new marine gasoil fuel tank to the Torry Marine Base. The fuel tank was funded by the logistics firm Peterson, reflecting the firm’s commitment to the Harbour as the long-term supply hub for the North Sea.
The 4,000 m3 tank doubled the port’s marine gas oil storage capacity.
The tank was build in a purpose built production facility in Rotterdam and was shipped to the city to be installed.

Matt North, Commercial Director of Aberdeen Harbour Board noted that the it is the second and largest MGO storage tank at the Torry Marine Base. In addition, the new tank also contributes to the increase of direct connection services across the operational berths at the Torry Marine Base, providing more efficiencies for our port users.
Concluding, Peterson’s Regional Director, Chris Coull, commented that the firm sees the harbour as a long term supply hub for the North Sea and think that the tank is an investment of value to support the required efficiencies of the modern energy industry.
