The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has issued a 15% discount on containership transit fees starting 15 May in an effort to attract and boost traffic.
The Chairman of the Authority announced that the Suez Canal Authority has issued incentives and discounts of 15% on the transit fees for containerships with a net tonnage of 130,000 tons or more (laden or empty), starting 15 May and for a period of 90 days.
As stated, this comes in response to the requirements of many customers, including owners and operators of containerships, and in an effort to encourage major shipping lines to return to transiting the Suez Canal again in light of the favorable conditions and the relative stability and calm witnessed by the security situation in the Red Sea region.
