Port of Rotterdam announced that during World Port Days 2020, “Port of Opportunities” is going to be the new theme for the public maritime event.Namely, the organization wants to show how important the freedom of the last 75 year has been for the port and the rest of the Netherlands’ development.
For the records, World Port Days is an annual maritime festival and this is the 43rd edition for the event.
As port of Rotterdam reported, the event will take place on 4, 5 and 6 September 2020, while since it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the liberation, Port of Rotterdam chose “Port of Opportunities” theme to celebrate Netherlands’ freedom.
Thanks to this freedom, Rotterdam was given the opportunity to rebuild the port to what it is today. That freedom also offers us the opportunity to continue to develop, to think outside the box and to innovate. Because that is the only way we can come up with solutions for the challenges we face now and in the future.

During World Port Days 2020, visitors will have the ability to meet new opportunities for careers and personal development through the port, while listen to people who are working behind the port’s operations sharing their experiences.
Without freedom, the port of Rotterdam would not be the place it is today. It has become a crucial hub for free international world trade and a true hotspot in the field of technology and innovation. Rotterdam is truly a Port of Opportunities.
