The RISK4SEA SaaS PSC Intelligence platform has unveiled the Primary Port State Control Key Performance Indicators (PSC KPIs) for Q1 2024, shedding light on PSC performance across major regimes.
The KPIs regarding PSC from RISK4SEA include Deficiency Per Inspection (DPI) and Detention Rate (DER), calculated to present performance comprehensively. As informed, the analysis period spans from January 1st to March 31st, 2024, within each respective regime. The KPIs presented are:
- Deficiency Per Inspection = 100 x (sum of deficiencies recorded for the period, age group & regime) / (sum of inspections recorded for the period, age group & regime)
- Detention Rate = 100 x (number of detentions for the period, age group & regime) / (sum of inspections recorded for the period, age group & regime)
Key insights gained from these metrics underscore the significance of regime, age group, and fleet segment in shaping PSC outcomes. According to RISK4SEA, a noteworthy finding is that contrary to prevailing assumptions of uniformity, KPIs exhibit notable variations across regimes.
Age Group breakdowns reveal stark differences, with metrics for older vessels often exceeding those of younger counterparts by factors of 2x, 3x, or even 4x.
Meanwhile, while Paris and Tokyo regimes exhibit similarities in KPI trends and figures, the USCG stands out with a distinctly different performance profile.
