ReCAAP issues its Quarterly Report re piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia

For the period January-September 2011

The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre issued its Quarterly Report regarding piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia for the period January-September 2011.

While the total number of reported incidents (121) remained consistent with the same period in 2010, the number of Category 1 (very significant) incidents doubled to six from the three reported in 2010. (10/21/11).
