Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) with its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production is towards to achieve the “best in class” reliability performance of 98.8%, while the Ras Laffan refinery also scored strong reliability of 98.6%, speeding well ahead of the recent year’s targets.
The company’s review in environmental and safety performance further showed a flaring rate of 0.38 against a target of 0.44, due to their successful flare reduction project, as for the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission rate was 0.35 against a target of 0.42.
The above mentioned numbers were highlighted during Qatarga’s event “achievements in 2019” at its Annual Town Hall meeting located in Doha and Al Khor. At the event, the company’s achievements for 2019 were discussed and the company presented its role in a wide range of areas.

Qatargas also announced that it has completed shutdowns for three of its mega LNG trains to make sure their reliability. A remarkable fact is also that the Laffan Refinery, Qatar’s first condensate refinery has noted ten years of operation without any lost time incident (LTI), while the company has finished two major environmental projects, the waste materials management facility and the treated industrial and process water facility.
Concluding, the company will make every effort for a non-incident and injury workplace, improving uptime availability, reliability, and utilization of the LNG plants, in order to success its goals for 2020 and to achieve full plant capacity and comply the supply rights.
