QatarEnergy has reportedly entered into an agreement with Hudong-Zhonghua for the construction of eight Q-Max LNG carriers, each with a capacity of 271,000 cubic meters.
According to international news sources, the order is estimated to surpass $2.4 billion (RMB 17.183 billion), with each ship potentially exceeding $300 million. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028 and 2029.
This marks a significant step in QatarEnergy’s strategy to enhance its LNG carrier fleet and solidify its position in the global LNG market.
To remind, using one of its Q-Max vessels, QatarEnergy delivered the 1,000th LNG shipment to the South Hook LNG Terminal at Milford Haven in the United Kingdom.
The delivery was made by the Q-Max LNG carrier “Mozah,” which already has another landmark achievement to its name: the 10,000th LNG cargo from Ras Laffan Port in 2006.
