Qatargas has delivered the first LNG cargo on a Q-Flex vessel to Greece’s Revithoussa LNG Terminal. This is for the first time that a Q-Flex LNG ship has called at the terminal, since it expanded last year.
The cargo was loaded at the Ras Laffan Terminal in Qatar on 3rd July 2019, and it arrived at the Revithoussa Terminal on board the Q-Flex vessel ‘Al Gharrafa’, on 20 July 2019.

The Revithoussa LNG Terminal is currently the only LNG terminal in Greece, located in the Gulf of Megara. Its construction was completed in 1999 and is operated by Greece’s National Natural Gas System Operator (DESFA).
The terminal has lately expanded, in order to increased its storage capacity up to 225,000 cubic meters, while it also upgraded its jetty to welcome Q-Flex size vessels. As for the ship that transferred the cargo, ‘Al Gharrafa’, it is a Q-Flex class LNG ship with a total cargo carrying capacity of 216,000 cubic meters.
Commenting on the development, Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chief Executive Officer, Qatargas, stated that it aligns with Qatargas’ strategy to continue increasing the growing number of terminals that its Q-Flex and Q-Max vessels can deliver into.
