Port Authority of Valencia recently reaffirmed its commitment concerning tackling climate change, through the construction of electrical substation, as part of its green investment plan.
In fact, amid the World Environment Day, Port of Valencia held a conference where specialists addressed issues such as reducing CO2 emissions, decarbonization, use of hydrogen or the use of LNG.
During the conference, Valencia Port announced its investment plan towards zero emissions and sustainability actions.

With the port being two decades ahead of Spain’s decarbonisation and greenhouse gas reduction 2030 targets, it further plans to collaborate with companies, workers, port community, institutions and administrations to boost climate concerns and enhance the environmental development.
In light of the above, the port will construct an electrical substation, a project which Government of Valencia just approved.
The Government of Valencia has just approved the project for an electrical substation equipped with two 30-megawatt tnsformers, which will allow us to connect the ships berthed in the port to the network and reduce emissions accordingly.

As part of the green initiative, the new north terminal of the Port of Valencia will operate 99% with renewable electricity, something that will also be a reality in the Port of Gandía with the photovoltaic energy plant that is scheduled for construction.
