Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) on 16 February successfully conducted its first Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering.
As stated, this significant bunkering operation involved the LNG dual-fuel containership Bangkok Express, operated by Hapag-Lloyd AG, and the LNG bunker vessel MT Paolina Cosulich.
This milestone underscores PTP’s dedication to enhancing our competitive edge in the global market by facilitating clean and efficient maritime operations.
…the port said in a social media statement.
To remind, in November 2024, the port also conducted its first methanol bunkering operation.
Additionally, Malaysia’s Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), is part of the Partnerships for Infrastructure (P4I) initiative, a decarbonisation scheme between Malaysia and Australia. According to a study by the Australian Government’s Partnership for Infrastructure (P4I), Malaysia has the potential to develop into a regional green fuel bunkering hub.
