Following the majority of the ports globally that have issued restrictions and precautionary measures, port of Tallinn is operating thermal cameras that will scan arriving passengers for fever in passenger terminals A and D.
Specifically, the port reported that passenger terminals A and D are equipped with thermal cameras to scan incoming passengers for fever.
Thermal cameras will start operating from 4th of March in A-terminal and from 5th of March in D-terminal and the monitoring will be conducted by Health Board.
To remind, fever is one amongst the symptoms of coronavirus, along with respiratory symptoms, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
Therefore, the newly installed cameras will detect if the body temperature is more than 38 degrees Celsius, indicating that they have a fever. The port adds that if a person with high fever is reported, they will be transmitted to a volunteer for health counseling present in the terminal. Person with above-average temperature will be given appropriate guidelines to follow.
