The Port of Seville in Spain, and especially the Armamento dock, will accommodate a new commercial shipment of offshore wind towers. The GRI Towers Sevilla company has transported four parts of towers in the last days. Each tower weighs 380 tonnes and is 85 metres in length.
The large structures were transported onboard the ship Palabora, and are heading to the East Anglia One park on the east coast of England, which the Spanish group Navantia is building.

This offshore wind farm wants to be the largest in the world and will be able to supply about 500,000 homes.
In September 2017, GRI Towers launched the the Armamento dock, performing the first commercial shipment in its history. The dock has been built to improve the port’s efficiency and to give it the ability to perform new kinds of operations.
With an investment of €2.1 million, the port authority aims to create the ideal conditions for the operation of the dock, after it had not been operating since the closure of the shipyard in Seville.
